G. Heileman Brewing Co. – Frankenmuth, MI

Detail: CDC purchased this one million barrel a year brewery out of bankruptcy from G. Heileman Brewery.

Solution: CDC demolished 75% of the obsolete buildings, removed asbestos, PCB transformers and caustics from the site and sold the remaining brewery equipment. CDC worked with the city planners on a redevelopment plan for the site and divided the site into two parcels which were sold to a local hotel and restaurant developer. The site is now home to River Place Shops, a German themed outdoor shopping mall that houses over 40 stores and attractions.
